In all the community awareness group was able to reach people of all age groups, in The market, homes, streets and businesses places.
Some of the volunteers shared with us the reason why they decided to come for the clean up. Speaking to miss Christabel Senge, a volunteer from one of the partner organizations of ASCOA , she said she decided to join the event because she wanted to play her part in protecting our environment and future » I decided to join this clean up because I want to be part of our environmental protection inorder to preserve the future of our planet…. The satisfaction you get after seeing the clean beach is very refreshing » she told us.

Mr Ewang Modecai, the coordinator for Center for Community Enhancement, CENEC, a partner organization to ASCOA, say him and his team decided to join the clean up because they saw it as a great initiative which will go a lomg way to handle the problem of a dirty Cameroonian Coastline » we know a day’s work can not solve the problem of dirty beaches, but the number we have today is an imposing one and that alone is capable to call the attention of people on the importance of cleaning their beach » he said while explaining the impact they intend to create.

This edition of the Cameroon beach clean up day is the second of it’s kind organized by ASCOA which is a charitable non- profit organization. According to organization, the cleaning of Coastline lies in the hazards caused by plastics that often results in disease threatening the lives of aquatic life. The engagement and the rallying of youths in this edition was mind-blowing. Giving hope for the future.
